I'll be honest with you
I struggled in the beginning!
My weight kept going up, my mood stayed going down and my periods were MIA altogether. π€¦π½ββοΈ
My doc told me to lose weight so I hopped on the diet train, the one that rhymes with Veto.
Just another thing I couldn't stick with that left me feeling hopeless.
I was desperate to figure this out, because random diets, birth control pills, and exercise boot camps were not it.
πSo I went back to school for functional nutrition and learned how to fix the main driver of my PCOS symptoms (insulin resistance).
I regrew the hair on my head, regulated my cycles, got pregnant, lost 18 lbs, and was able to keep it off.
I was on fire! π₯ ππ
The obsessing started.
I saw everything as either "good or bad" for my PCOS with no in-between.
I was exercising 6 days a week, cooking everything myself, and wouldn't eat out or travel to avoid foods that weren't "PCOS Friendly".
π I BURNED OUT π
There was no way I could maintain this life.
Avoiding foods I loved, taking 30+ supplements a day, chasing lab work, and feeling guilty for falling "off track" was not what l wanted.π
Having cheat days.
But I felt deprived and guilty when I indulged outside of them.
Alternating weeks of clean-eating and exercise, with free-eating and rest.
No good, I was trading cheat days for cheat weeks.
Creating the perfect weekly exercise and meal plans to follow.
But they quickly fell apart with the slightest deviation.
I couldn't figure it out!!
There had to be a way to keep my PCOS in check without disrupting my life completely.
